We’ve carried out extensive research on dedicated server hosting – and the top cheapest host we discovered is Bluehost. By cross-referencing the features, prices, and customer support on offer from the best hosts on the market, we’ve found the cheapest dedicated server hosting providers and the best providers, too!
But first, what exactly is dedicated hosting, and why do you need it?
With dedicated hosting, you have a whole server dedicated to your website. This means your website isn’t competing with other sites for bandwidth, and shouldn’t go down if you get a surge in traffic. Load times should also stay fairly high, so you aren’t keeping your customers waiting.
You should definitely get dedicated hosting if your website:
- Gets thousands of visits per week
- Is an ecommerce site stocking 30+ products
If your website is at the stage where you need a dedicated hosting plan, it’s proof that things are going well. But no matter how well your website is doing, forking out $500+ for pricey dedicated server hosting never feels great.
So, let’s help you avoid that and get started!
The Top 8 Cheapest Dedicated Server Hosts
- Bluehost – $99.99/month (12-month plan)
- Ionos – $47/month (12 months)
- HostGator – $109.98/month (12 months)
- Hostwinds – $122/month (12 months)
- DreamHost – $149/month (12 months)
- Liquid Web – $169/month (12 months)
- InMotion – $139.99/month (12 months)
- A2 Hosting – $159/month (12 months)
The chosen few were picked and rated because of the following factors:
- Pricing – Looking at the number of plans, price range, money-back guarantee offering, billing cycle, and more.
- Performance – How fast the server response time is, storage space, bandwidth, cores, threads, RAM, and more.
- Features – To ensure the providers offer migration, security, backups, domains, control panel, green hosting, and more.
- Help and support – Is there an extensive knowledge base, live chat, phone, and other support options available?
- Market analysis – Competitor reviews, search volume, and more.
With these insights, we were able to compare each of the eight hosting providers and their dedicated hosting plans, picking the very best and the absolute cheapest!

Hold your hosting horses!
It’s worth noting that the cheapest provider doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best value for money. Our research shows that GoDaddy Hosting, for example, offers the second cheapest dedicated server plan, but scores lower than InMotion for help and support (GoDaddy scores 4.4 out of 5, while InMotion scores 4.5).
Ionos is also the cheapest of all the providers on the list, but Bluehost offers a better range of dedicated features, performance and great help and support.

#1. Bluehost
Pricing plans from $99.99 per month
Bluehost
$99.99/month (12-month plan)
- Best dedicated hosting
- Fantastic features
- Best value for money
Paid Plans: $2.95 - $119.99 / month
Pros
- 30 day money-back guarantee
- Fantastic help and support
- Great security features
Cons
- Not the best site speed & uptime
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
In our roundup of the best dedicated hosting providers, we’ve awarded Bluehost the title for Best Value for Money – but how does its Standard plan fare against the other cheap plans available?
Bluehost scores well in terms of features, getting a 4.4 out of 5 for them. It has a great uptime of 99.98% – pretty great, but Liquid Web and DreamHost offer 100% uptime.
Help and support is where Bluehost comes into its own, though. You can contact a member of the Bluehost team at any time. Either through the 24/7 phone support, live chat, or email. It’s easy to overlook help and support, but you’ll soon regret doing so when your site goes down and you can’t get hold of anyone to help!
Bluehost also has gone from one server location up to five server locations: Utah, London, Mumbai, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. This means that if you’re in, or near, these locations, your site won’t take too long to load.
What is the downside to Bluehost’s Standard plan? The bandwidth allowance is relatively low at 5TB, so you may struggle if you have an unexpected surge in traffic. It also only offers manual migration, while many other providers offer free expert migration.

#2. 1&1 Ionos
Pricing Plans from $47/month
IONOS
$47/month (12 months)
- Cheapest of all plans
- 1000GB storage
- Only manual migration
Paid Plans: $0.5 - $35 / month
Pros
- Excellent site speed
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Great security features
Cons
- Only has Joomla, Drupal, and TYPO3
- Only offers 24/7 phone support
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
Ionos has the best price of the builders on the list, and a decent number of features. Coming in second place for dedicated plans with a score of 4.5 out of 5 for dedicated hosting.
The cheapest dedicated plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, 99.98% uptime and 1000GB of storage. Of the providers we tested, Ionos also offers the best site speed!
The downside to Ionos is that, like Bluehost, you only have the option of manual migration. It also only has a 24/7 phone support service, but it lacks the option for live chat or email support – which could mean longer wait times.
#3. HostGator
Pricing Plans from $109.98/month
HostGator
$109.98/month (12 months)
- Cheapest of all plans
- 1000GB storage
- Only manual migration
Paid Plans: $3.95 - $159.99 / month
Pros
- Fantastic uptime guarantee (99.99%)
- Unmetered bandwidth
- 1TB storage
Cons
- High renewal rates
- No free backups
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
HostGator may not have snapped up the award for most affordable dedicated hosting plan, but it is our second top recommended host, and with good reason. The HostGator ‘Value’ plan is its cheapest dedicated server hosting option, but does it live up to its name?
We think so. The first thing to note about HostGator is that it offers the third highest uptime guarantee of any provider, at 99.99% – making it a solid option if you want your business up and running online!
The storage with the value plan is great too, with a massive 1TB of disk space available. That, combined with unmetered bandwidth, all support options available, and a 45-day money-back guarantee, makes HostGator a really reliable and good value hosting option.
What are the downsides of HostGator? The biggest downside is its renewal rates, which jump from $109.98 per month (yearly), to $189 per month – which is quite the leap.
#4. Hostwinds
Pricing plans from $122 per month
Hostwinds
$122/month (12 months)
- Super scalable
- Great security features
- 10TB bandwidth
Paid Plans: $4.99 - $328.99 / month
Pros
- Free expert migration
- Daily automatic backups
- Free SSL certificate
Cons
- No free domain
- No money-back guarantee
- No phone support
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
Hostwinds has 11 dedicated plans on offer, making it simple to find a plan that fits your needs. Because of its sheer number of plans, Hostwinds is also really scalable.
On all plans you get a free SSL and the ability to use any control panel, depending on the operating system you choose. Considering the price range, Hostwinds is a little underwhelming in what it offers.
It only has server locations in Texas, Washington, and Amsterdam. Hostwinds doesn’t give a free domain, and does not offer any phone support!
All that said, it is a great host for those who want a scalable, dedicated plan that has free expert migration, 1TB of storage space, and 10TB of bandwidth.
#5. DreamHost
Pricing plans from $149 per month
DreamHost
$149/month (12 months)
- Super scalable
- 1TB of storage space
- Unlimited bandwidth
Paid Plans: $2.95 - $379 / month
Pros
- Free expert migration
- 100% uptime guarantee
- 97-day money-back guarantee
Cons
- Steep increase in prices
- No phone support
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
DreamHost’s dedicated plans offer a free domain for the first year, an expert migration for $99 per site (or free for WordPress), and 24/7 live chat and email support.
Where DreamHost really stands out from the crowd is in its 100% uptime – almost unheard of in the web hosting industry. The only other provider that offers 100% uptime is Liquid Web.
DreamHost also comes with unlimited bandwidth, 1TB of storage space, and a whopping 97-day money back guarantee.
The only trouble with DreamHost is plans see a significant increase compared to that of their other types of hosting packages. When compared with the most expensive virtual private server (VPS) plan, which is $110 per month (for a year), DreamHost’s most expensive dedicated plan is $399 per month – which is a large increase.
#6. Liquid Web
Pricing plans from $169 per month
Liquid Web
$169/month (12 months)
- 100% uptime
- 24/7 live chat & phone
- Great speed
Paid Plans: $15.83 - $832.5 / month
Pros
- 5TB bandwidth
- Free expert migration
- Great help and support
Cons
- Expensive for what it offers
- Only has DDoS security
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
Liquid Web, similar to DreamHost, is another host that provides a huge 100% uptime guarantee! This is great news for guaranteeing your website is online at all times. The standard Intel Xeon plan also comes with 5TB bandwidth, free expert migration, and 24/7 support via phone, live chat, and email.
For the tech buffs, you’ll be pleased to know that Liquid Web has a high core and thread count – meaning that you’ll get enhanced speeds and you’ll be able to do more work at any time on your website.
The biggest downside of Liquid Web is the price for its dedicated plans. The cheapest plan starts at a chunky $169 per month – if you get a yearly subscription. It then goes up to $199 per month when renewed. Considering that competitors offer similar features for almost half the price, Liquid Web certainly isn’t the cheapest!
#7. InMotion
Pricing plans from $139.99 per month
InMotion
$139.99/month (12 months)
- Scalable
- Free expert migration
- 30-day guarantee
Paid Plans: $3.49 - $539.99 / month
Pros
- Free domain
- Great help and support
- Free SSL
Cons
- Only 2 server locations
- Low site speeds
- Low uptime of 99.97%
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
At $139.99 per month for InMotion’s Essential plan (yearly contract), when it comes to value, does it challenge the likes of the feature-rich Bluehost?
InMotion does have some pretty crackerjack features. As far as dedicated hosting plans go, the Essential plan is fairly affordable. InMotion has a 30-day money-back guarantee, 1TB of storage space, free expert migration, a free SSL certificate, and a free domain!
The one big positive? InMotion offers five dedicated hosting plans. This makes it really easy to upgrade your plan as your website grows, and means you’ll never find yourself paying for much more than you need.
One big downside? InMotion’s a middle-of-the-road hosting provider with higher prices and slower site speed and uptime when compared with the providers we’ve tested.
#8. A2 Hosting
Pricing Plans from $159/month
A2 Hosting
$159/month (12 months)
- Good security features
- 8GB RAM
- Good help and support
Paid Plans: $6.59 - $529.99 / month
Pros
- Good help and support
- 4 server locations
- Free expert migration
Cons
- Poor uptime (99.95%)
- No backups
- Expensive compared to competitors
Standard Dedicated Plan Features
Lastly, how does A2 Hosting compare for value? On the cheapest dedicated plan you’re looking to spend $159 per month (when you pay for the year), which is quite pricey. What you get for the price tag is a free expert migration, some stellar security features, and pretty good phone and live chat support.
There’s also a decent amount of disk space (2 x 500GB) and 8GB of RAM. While it does not achieve the best uptime guarantee (only 99.95%), and only has a server in Michigan, it’s still a pretty good option.

Depending on the host, you’ll be able to lock in this promotional price for anywhere between three months and three years. But, of course, here at Website Builder Expert, we’re all about digging a little deeper.
Renewal Prices For The 8 Cheapest Dedicated Server Hosts:

- Hostwinds – $122/month
- DreamHost – $149/month
- Liquid Web – $199/month
